This Privacy Policy describes how Consignify ("we", "our", or "us") collects, uses, and shares your information when you use our Shopify application.
Information We Collect
We collect information that you provide directly to us, including:
Shop information and settings when you install our app
Product data and order information from your Shopify store. We do not collect or store any customer data associated with the orders.
Consignor information and payout details you manage through our app
If you link a consignor to a Shopify customer (for example to pay store credit), that customer's name and email, which we read from Shopify when you search for or link the customer. We store the customer's ID on the consignor record. If you ask us to create a Shopify customer for a consignor, we send that consignor's name and email to Shopify to create it.
Consignor information is held for you, the merchant. You decide what to enter or import, and our terms describe how we process it on your behalf. Our terms also cover payment integrations.
How We Use Your Information
We use the information we collect to provide and maintain Consignify services:

We do not sell, trade, or otherwise transfer your personal information to third parties except as described in this policy. We may share your information with:
Shopify, as required by their platform policies
Legal authorities when required by law
The service providers below, which store or process data for us
The payment provider you connect (for example PayPal), to send the payouts you request
Service Providers and Where Data Is Held
Render: database, application hosting and job queue (United States)
Cloudflare R2: uploaded files (such as signed consignor documents) and database backups
Google Cloud Pub/Sub: carries Shopify webhooks to us until they are processed
ZeptoMail: sends our emails and keeps its own delivery logs (EU data centre)
Google Analytics: page-view statistics on our public pages only
AI coding assistant services (currently Anthropic's Claude Code and OpenAI's Codex), which help us develop and support the app. We don't give them personal data held in the app, such as names, email addresses or phone numbers
Some of this data is held in the United States. Where we transfer personal data outside the UK or the EEA, we rely on our providers' certification under the EU-U.S. Data Privacy Framework (including its UK Extension), or on the standard contractual clauses (with the UK Addendum) in their data processing agreements.
Data Security
We implement appropriate security measures to protect your information against unauthorized access, alteration, disclosure, or destruction.
Data Retention
We retain your information for as long as your app is installed and active, or as required by law. After you uninstall:
Your data stays for about 48 hours, in case you reinstall.
When Shopify then sends its shop erasure request, we delete the shop's sessions, payouts, orders, products, consignors and shop record, along with the records that depend on them (email logs, consignor sign-in links, document records and notices). We also delete the files stored for the shop, such as signed documents and shop logos.
When Shopify sends a customer erasure request, we clear that customer's link on every consignor in the shop and redact any store-credit transfer destination for that customer.
Database backups age out within 42 days, so deleted data leaves our last backup within 42 days of deletion.
Shopify can instruct us to delete your data at other times. You may delete individual consignors in the app, or ask us to delete your data at any time by contacting us.

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of any changes by posting the new Privacy Policy on this page and updating the "Last updated" date.
